Waffleysome Introduction

These pages started off as a gallery containing a small selection of some of my favourite photographs that I've taken over the last 20 years or more (20 years???? Arrghhh!!!! I'm getting old, I'm married! I've got children! Oh no, I've turned into a responsible adult!!!! Hmmm.... no, that last bit isn't true, at least).

Looking through my collection it quickly dawned on me that they all seem to be of steam engines! Having recently come out into the open and admitted that I do think that the steam locomotive is one of mankind's greatest achievements, I decided to go ahead and build the web site anyway.

When I showed the prototype to my son Robert, he said "Dad, can we put some of my pictures on it?", so it quickly became our web site and not mine any more at all. I have a nasty feeling that it will eventually become "The Robert Skilleter Steam Gallery" and that there'll be a little link called "a few of my Dad's photos" buried somewhere on the site with everything else being by Robert. Until then, I might as well try and do the best that I can!

If you like what you see, please tell me. Better still, tell Robert as he likes receiving email far more than I do. If you don't like the site, then I'm sorry well, actually, I couldn't care less; there are plenty of other web sites that are far better than this one, and I don't need telling about them!

This page was getting a bit big for browsing comfort (well, you don't want to wear those cursor keys out, do you?) so I've split it up and you can now find our news page here and a page full of gimmickry and gadgetry here. Please visit them, I don't wear my mouse down to the bone creating these pages for nothing, do I?
